Oliver McLoughlin

Oliver advises multinational corporations, insurers, lenders and investors on machinery and equipment valuations for insurance placement, financial reporting, purchase price allocation, fresh-start accounting, taxation and transaction support. His experience spans the full energy value chain, including upstream oil and gas, LNG, refining, petrochemicals, power generation and utilities, as well as mining, metals, transportation and advanced manufacturing.

His notable assignments include the valuation of remote oil-gathering facilities in the jungles of Borneo, mining operations in the Peruvian Andes at elevations exceeding 4,000 metres and Saudi Arabia's desalination infrastructure. These engagements have required robust valuation methodologies, technical understanding and practical problem-solving in challenging operating environments.

Prior to joining Kroll, Oliver worked in EY's Capital Equipment Valuation practice, advising clients on financial reporting, tax and transaction valuations. Earlier in his career, he worked at Appraisal & Valuation Consultants Ltd., where he developed specialized expertise in the valuation of large-scale industrial assets.

Alongside his client work, Oliver provides technical leadership within the energy practice, mentoring junior valuation professionals and helping develop their understanding of valuation fundamentals, fair value principles and internationally recognized valuation methodologies. He is a recognized specialist in financial reporting valuations within the practice, drawing on this expertise to support clients and colleagues on complex valuation matters.

Oliver is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers and holds a Master of Physics (MPhys) from the University of Manchester.

Outside of work, Oliver is a keen diver, triathlete and Manchester United supporter.
