Industrial and Commercial Services Industry Insights – Spring 2026
The Industrial and Commercial Services sector enters 2026 with strong momentum, underpinned by resilient demand, supportive macroeconomic trends, and elevated M&A activity. North American deal volume reached 804 transactions in 2025, representing a 14.9% year over year increase and the highest level of activity since 2021. As tariff uncertainty weighed on manufacturing, investor focus shifted decisively toward service based business models with stable cash flows and limited trade exposure.
Industrial Services emerged as the standout performer, benefiting from expanded domestic manufacturing investment and infrastructure spending, while Environmental and Facilities Services continued to attract interest due to recurring revenue profiles and regulatory tailwinds. Engineering and Transportation & Logistics Services showed steadier performance as markets adjusted to evolving demand patterns.
The report also highlights Event and Trade Show Services, a subsector seeing increased consolidation driven by the return of in person events, growth in corporate experiences, and demand for integrated, end to end service offerings.
