
Andrew is a managing director in the Fairness and Solvency Opinions and M&A Advisory practices, based in the New York office. Andrew leverages more than 35 years of investment banking experience.
Prior to joining the firm, Andrew served as a managing director in The Bank of New York’s Merchant Banking Group. Before that, he held the title of managing director, shareholder and head of corporate finance at Fieldstone, Inc. Prior to that, he served as a managing director at Bankers Trust Company in the bank’s New York and London M&A teams. Earlier in his career, Andrew was the founder and general partner of Art Deco Hotels, Ltd., which restored and operated seven hotel properties that pioneered the revival of the Miami Beach Art Deco District, an economic consultant to the Republic of Chile, Ministry of Finance and a registered representative at Drexel Burnham Lambert.
Andrew specializes in executing M&A, exclusive sales and divestitures, private placements, fairness opinions, government privatizations, restructurings and recapitalization transactions. He has completed more than 80 M&A and capital markets transactions and more than 200 fairness and solvency opinions in the United States, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. In addition, he has served as an expert witness in several disputes, involving public company mergers and acquisitions, fairness opinions and corporate governance.
Andrew has led fairness and solvency opinion engagements for diverse clients. Some of his notable clients include: Alcoa Inc., International Paper Company, ITT Corp., Simon Property Group, Inc. and T-Mobile US Inc. He also has advised portfolio companies of leading private equity firms. Some notable clients include: Apollo Global Management, The Carlyle Group, Centerbridge Partners, L.P., Clayton Dubilier & Rice, LLC, Investindustrial, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., New Mountain Capital LLC., Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. and Onex Corporation.
Andrew received his M.A. , with honors, from the University of Miami School of Business and Economics. He also holds his B.A., cum laude, from Yale University. He was a founding director and served as president of the Miami Design Preservation League and a member of the board of directors and co-president of the Manitoga/Russel Wright Design Center. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
