Crisis Management and Risk Monitoring in Ukraine

Kroll’s Security Risk Management (SRM) team was retained by a U.S.-based company with a significant workforce in Ukraine, and more specifically centered in Kyiv. Many of these employees served in critical roles and were instrumental to the delivery of our client’s online products and services. Ukraine faced an impending invasion by hostile forces, and our client wanted to fortify their continuity and resilience planning to ensure the safety and welfare of their people and families in Kyiv. 

In the weeks leading up to Russia’s ground offensive, Kroll’s SRM team worked around-the-clock to review, edit, augment and supplement our client’s business continuity and resiliency plans as well as emergency actions plans. During this time, Kroll provided ongoing crisis management advice and risk monitoring to build up a library of knowledge to enable the client to make informed decisions on the safety and welfare of their workforce and their families.

Project Outcomes

As a result of Kroll’s work:

•  The resilience plans were activated, and Kroll continues to provide the client real, curated and actionable information collected from sources on the ground to inform their key decisions related to risk, safety and security.
• This risk monitoring deliverable is now also available to all of Kroll’s clients and potential clients in a scalable way. 
  • Risk monitoring is delivered by reporting daily, twice weekly and weekly dependent on our clients’ needs, and these reports are followed up with oral presentations that give our clients an opportunity to ask questions to our risk management specialists.
