Paul Koppel is a director in the Kroll Transfer Pricing practice, based in New York. He has over eight years of experience advising clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to startups on a variety of transfer pricing, economic and valuation issues. Paul has a strong focus on assisting growing companies with their global transfer pricing needs through the design of defensible and pragmatic solutions.

Paul has been assisting clients with all aspects of transfer pricing from planning, documentation and implementation to audit support and controversy. He also regularly assists his multinational company clients and PE clients with their transfer pricing due diligence and post-acquisition integration planning. He has also applied transfer pricing principles in non-tax contexts, such as benchmarking analyses used for fairness opinions and setting arm’s length terms, where conflicts of interest exist. He works with clients across a range of industries, including but not limited to, consumer products, financial services, media and entertainment, not-for-profit and technology.

Paul recently completed a secondment in the Kroll London office to help build and establish the European transfer pricing practice. He continues to work on transatlantic projects requiring U.S. and European-specific expertise. He is also the chief of staff of the Transfer Pricing practice and has responsibilities related to the operational management and professional development of the team.

Before joining Kroll in 2012, Paul worked with Ceteris, which was the largest independent transfer pricing firm in North America. He holds a BBA with concentrations in finance and marketing from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. Paul has been a speaker on transfer pricing topics at universities and various tax conferences. He is also an advisory board member at the Rutgers Design Thinking Program, as well as an active member of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE).
