Prior to joining Kroll, Mike was a commercial real estate appraiser with Hunsperger and Weston Ltd. where he performed a variety of appraisal assignments throughout Colorado. Before HW Ltd., he spent 15 years with the Denver County Assessor’s Office where he was responsible for the mass appraisal of approximately 100,000 of Denver’s 500,000 parcels and supervised a group of 9 appraisers throughout the valuation and appeal process.
Mike has an MA in Economics from the University of Colorado and completed undergraduate work from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. He has also attended numerous appraisal and assessment courses with the Colorado Division of Property Taxation and takes classes from the Appraisal Institute to meet continuing education requirements and work toward the MAI designation.
Mike has been a guest panelist and moderated a panel for the Colorado Real Estate Journal as an expert in real property taxation. He is also an active member of Denver BOMA and serves on the Government and Legislative Affairs Committee. Mike is a former member of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) and the Apartment Association of Metro Denver (AAMD), and currently holds a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser’s License in the State of Colorado.
