
Robert Shifman

Robert has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams on complex cross-border engagements involving investment funds and offshore structures across multiple jurisdictions, including Asia, North America and the Caribbean. He regularly coordinates with legal advisers, investors, creditors and other stakeholders in contentious and stakeholder-sensitive situations.
He has experience across a variety of industries, including financial services, crypto and digital assets, oil and gas, aviation, hospitality, retail and real estate.
Having spent over a decade advising clients in offshore jurisdictions, Robert has developed significant expertise in delivering pragmatic and commercially focused solutions in complex distressed and stakeholder situations, particularly in offshore and investment fund contexts.
Prior to relocating to the Cayman Islands, Robert spent almost four years with a mid-tier full-service accounting firm in Australia, where he worked on a broad range of insolvency engagements involving small and medium-sized enterprises. During this time, he was also seconded to the firm’s corporate finance division, supporting advisory mandates including asset valuations and sell-side due diligence.
Robert is an Australian Chartered Accountant and received his Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting and Human Resources Management from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. He is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and a Member of the Australian Turnaround Management Association (TMA). Robert is also a Member of the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals (INSOL) and a Board Member of the Cayman Islands Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association (RISA).
