Matt has advised clients across a wide range of industries on engagements including internal corporate investigations, civil and criminal fraud matters, SEC inquiries, accounting and auditor malpractice disputes, GAAP and GAAS compliance reviews, breach of contract claims, bankruptcy related consulting and internal control reviews. He has managed and supported Ponzi scheme investigations, bribery and corruption inquiries, representations and warranties disputes and minority shareholder matters. He regularly prepares sophisticated accounting, valuation and damages analyses in support of expert testimony.
Matt has assisted experts in preparing written expert reports and pre litigation memoranda, and frequently supports depositions, arbitrations, trials and presentations before corporate and regulatory audiences. His valuation experience includes Delaware Court of Chancery and international appraisal matters, minority shareholder buyouts, earn out disputes and lost business value claims. He also has extensive experience supporting R&W insurers and transaction parties in post acquisition disputes arising from mergers and acquisitions.
Matt is a contributing author to Kroll’s annual publication, Selected Business Valuation Case Summaries: Delaware Court of Chancery Decisions and has authored multiple editions of the review over consecutive years.
Matt holds a Master of Science in accounting and a Bachelor of Science in business management with a concentration in accounting from the Boston College Carroll School of Management. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and is a member of the Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
