Kevin Song

Prior to joining Borrelli Walsh (now Kroll), Kevin practiced legal services and had extensive experience in judicial and administrative procedures. He has a proven track record in helping clients apply to courts and administrative authorities for remedies, orders and approvals.

Kevin is regularly appointed or recommended by financial institutions, multinational corporations, and lenders to act as receiver for special assets, liquidator appointed by overseas courts, and financial advisor to project companies. In these capacities, he leads teams in taking control of companies and assets both within and outside China, formulating and implementing restructuring plans, identifying buyers and disposing of assets, managing and turning around distressed businesses and crisis situations, and facilitating the orderly exit of such entities from the market.

Kevin has rich experience across a wide range of industries, including real estate, education, catering, mining & energy and finance. He also assists clients throughout the entire lifecycle of VIE structures, from establishment and supervisory operations to dispute resolution, and also taking responsible roles in VIE entities.

His clients primarily includes private equity funds, multinational banks, listed companies, state-owned enterprises, and policy banks. Kevin is adept at handling complex disputes between investors and portfolio companies, and leveraging multi-faceted approaches combining negotiation, financial, legal, and other strategies to overcome restructuring challenges, resolve debt issues, and recover assets.
