July 11, 20243:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (CET) | (Online)
Join Kroll, the CFA Society Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Valuation Professionals Association (LVPA) on July 11 at 3:00 p.m. for an insightful webinar on “Higher-for-Longer Rates in Europe? Impact on Cost of Capital.”

The eurozone narrowly escaped a recession at the end of 2023. While Spain and other southern European nations achieved above-average growth, Germany fell into a shallow recession. Luxembourg’s GDP contracted by approximately 1.1% due to a significant decline in the key financial services sector. Despite the challenges, there are signs of modest economic recovery in the eurozone, with further improvements anticipated in 2025. Monetary policy is expected to become less restrictive in 2024, although interest rates remain at their highest levels in over a decade.
This economic landscape creates heightened uncertainty for companies, reminiscent of the global financial crisis of 2008-2009. Amidst these challenges, we invite you to our upcoming webinar where our experts will provide a mid-year update and discuss what is in store for the rest of 2024.

The webinar will cover:
  • Analysis of essential economic indicators for Europe, including real growth, inflation and monetary policy outlook.
  • Exploration of trends affecting financial markets.
  • Discussion on how these economic and financial market conditions impact cost of capital inputs and valuation.
  • Examination of how the recent restrictive financing environment has impacted fund valuations, as well as M&A and IPO activity.
