Tim Horner, Senior Managing Director and Global Practice Leader, and Matt Dumpert, Associate Managing Director, in the Security Risk Management practice of Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps, were featured in Forbes discussing the increased risk involved in traveling outside of the U.S. subsequent to the attack that killed Iranian general Qasem Soleimani on January 3, 2020.
In the article, “How To Prepare Your Business For Iranian Retaliation Against Your Executives,” Horner stated that the increased risks for executives of American companies include cyberattacks and physical actions including kidnapping.
“Iran operates through proxies and those proxies, which can include any of several militant groups, may be looking for American executives traveling under the radar to visit venues of American interests,” Dumpert explained.
Dumpert discussed how it is important for companies to evaluate risks before traveling. Horner stated, “This is an area where we consistently work, we’re setting threat levels for personal travel or corporate events.”
