In February 2015, Danube Foods Group, the leading FMCG platform in the former Yugoslavia, was sold to Mid Europa Partners, a private equity firm focused on Central Europe, for an undisclosed consideration. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, and is expected to be completed in H1 2015.
Duff & Phelps was engaged by KRyS Global, the liquidator of Value Discovery Partners (“VDP”), the owner of Danube Foods Group (the “Group”), to provide corporate finance advice on the sale of the Group.
The Group includes the leading dairy, confectionary and mineral water and non-alcoholic beverage businesses in the former Yugoslavia, generating a combined EBITDA in excess of €80m.
Duff & Phelps provided high-quality advice in what was a very challenging sales process with a diversified range of stakeholders and long and complicated history.
The advisory team managed a number of potential acquirers through a process to ensure completion of this highly complex transaction at a premium valuation.
John Greenwood, Managing Director at KRyS Global (BVI), commented: “This was a highly complex transaction and we are delighted with the advice that Kroll gave us regarding the sale of Danube Foods Group. Throughout their involvement, Duff & Phelps provided us with sound judgment and played a key role in this process - their management of the situation was critical to achieving a successful outcome.”
Henry Wells, Managing Director at Duff & Phelps, commented: “Danube Foods Group is a collection of market leading consumer businesses that have traded very well through some difficult circumstances. We are delighted to have advised KRyS Global and to have delivered a great result for the stakeholders of these businesses.”
