A Premier League football club engaged Kroll to conduct a source of funds and reputational review on a potential branding partner involved in manufacturing in the Far East.
In addition to conducting a thorough review of public information in the local language, Kroll spoke to in country sources with knowledge of the subject company and the individuals running it. We also discreetly visited the site of the company’s factory to observe the extent of its operations.
We discovered that, contrary to the manner in which the company had represented itself to the football club, the business was in fact facing serious financial difficulties and was the subject of allegations of fraudulent activity from investors. The factory itself was no longer in operation.
