Michael Burke is a director at Duff & Phelps.

Mike Burke is a director in the Boston office and part of the Valuation Advisory Services business unit. He has more than 20 years of corporate finance and valuation experience. Mike’s experience includes roles in corporate lending, alternative finance, investment banking, business valuation and private equity. Throughout his career, he has advised countless companies on finance and valuation issues.

As a member of the Alternative Asset Advisory practice, Mike focuses on the valuation of illiquid securities for hedge funds, private equity funds, business development corporations and fund of funds.

Prior to joining Kroll, Mike was owner and president of an alternative finance company. Prior to that, he led the investment activity in secondary transactions for SVG Advisers, a global private equity fund of funds business. This experience included leading secondary investments for three of the largest private equity LP-backed collateralized fund obligations to date.

Prior to SVG Advisers, Mike worked in a boutique investment banking and valuation firm which became part of Fleet Securities, Inc. During this time, he led valuation engagements for a variety of purposes including gift and estate tax reporting and mergers and acquisitions. He also led M&A mandates for middle market companies and worked on a variety of fairness and solvency opinions. Mike began his career with a bank which became part of PNC Bank, where he received formal credit training.      

Mike received an M.B.A. from Villanova University and a B.A. in Management from Stockton University. He is an experienced finance instructor and has been an adjunct faculty member at the undergraduate level. Mike is a chartered financial analyst (CFA) charterholder, a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society Boston.
