Elan primarily works with private equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds and business development companies. He has extensive experience in valuing illiquid securities, establishing best-in-class policies and procedures and performing fund manager valuations. He has valued illiquid securities across capital structures, industries and geographies.
In addition, Elan has extensive experience in performing valuations of businesses and assets for a diverse range of companies for purposes of financial reporting, tax and mergers and acquisitions. He has performed valuations for purchase price allocations (ASC 805), impairment testing (ASC 350), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), international tax planning, estate and gift tax, as well as litigation support purposes. Elan has also valued a wide variety of intangible assets including trade names, brands, customer relationships, technology, in-process research and development, franchise rights, contractual relationships and assembled workforce.
Elan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Georgia. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute and is a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts.
