David White is an associate managing director in the Cyber Risk practice of Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps, based in the London office. David has over 15 years of experience leading operational teams globally and supporting clients in the delivery of specialized solutions across the UK government, blue-chip companies and law enforcement. His expertise lies in working in time sensitive and highly regulated environments.
From research and operation centers located in North America, Europe and Australia, David’s team facilitates the global response for breach notification events ranging from those that impact a single individual to the most high-profile data breach on record, which affected nearly half-a-billon consumers worldwide. David launched Kroll’s Identity Theft and Breach Notification business in EMEA, and he was appointed by the FCA to oversee Kroll’s UK regulated restoration services.
Before joining Kroll, David ran Goldman Sachs’s Tax program during the implementation of new global regulations. David began his career in the British Army, where he held several roles, including head of the branch responsible for providing geographic and data intelligence and advice to UK Special Forces and other government departments. He also served on the UK Resilience Council, providing advice during UK emergencies and events, including the London 2012 Olympics. David is a serving British Army Reserve Officer.
His personal casework includes being Head of an Army Reserve unit in Central London. He was responsible for a team of over 100 personnel that provided specialist bomb disposal training to security forces in Iraq, Pakistan and Nigeria alongside their regular counterparts. He has previously led an operation against a gang involved in a series of armed robberies targeting cash in transit operatives, the proceeds of which were used to fund terrorism, resulting in their conviction and substantial custodial sentences. He has additionally advised the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on Asia on intelligence matters.
David is recognized as a global authority on data breach, identity theft and next-generation technology, including artificial intelligence advancements. He has been frequently featured in the media, including Entirely Finance’s article, “David White Addresses Identity Fraud,” and I News’s piece, “How UK Consumers Can Avoid Bank Fraud.”
