
David Turf is a managing director and a senior member of the firm's Fairness and Solvency Opinions practice which provides related-party debt advisory services and opinions, based in the Chicago office. David leverages more than 20 years of corporate finance and valuation experience assisting boards of directors, management, trustees and shareholders with matters regarding mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, employees stock ownership plans and financing.
Prior to joining Kroll, David served as an assistant vice president in the commercial loan department of Corus Bank.
David has provided fairness in a variety of transactions, including going-private, reverse merger, related party, ESOP and restructuring transactions, as well as traditional M&A transactions. He has provided solvency opinions in spin-offs and split-ups, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and other leveraged transactions. David has also advised companies on structuring debt securities and issued commercially reasonable debt opinions for debt issuances in related-party transactions.
David has experience in many industries, including consumer products, industrials, business services, engineering and construction, energy, and media and entertainment. Some of his notable clients include Illinois Tool Works, Honeywell International, Tyco International, Aon, Visa, Michael Kors, Mattel, Merck & Co, Mallinckrodt, Atlantic Power Corporation, Scripps Networks Interactive and The Jim Pattison Group.
David received an MBA in finance and organizational behavior from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, where he graduated with distinction. He also holds a B.S. in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with highest honors. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a FINRA Series 7 and 63 registered representative.
