
David Rowe is a managing director in the Transaction Opinions practice, which provides independent financial advice to boards of directors and special committees on financial transactions, based in Chicago. David leverages more than 20 years of experience providing senior management teams and boards of directors with financial transparency and specializes in providing fairness opinions, solvency opinions and business valuations to public and private companies and their boards of directors.
Corporate transactions include M&A, leveraged buyouts/going-private, dividends, recapitalizations, related-party transactions, spin-offs, special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), rights offerings, share repurchases and ESOPs. His experience spans financial institutions (banks, investment managers, insurance) and other industries including industrial products, energy/renewables, healthcare, technology, consumer/retail and engineering/construction.
David started his career as an investment banker with Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. and was with Duff & Phelps from 2004 to 2010. Prior to re-joining the firm, David was a corporate finance professional with Citadel where he assisted with the sale of their hedge fund administration business to Northern Trust and continued in executive roles at Northern Trust including the CFO of Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, the Finance Head for Northern Trust’s Global Technology Services business, and a finance executive for Northern Trust’s Wealth Management business.
David received an MBA in finance and accounting from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BSE in industrial and operations engineering (magna cum laude) from the University of Michigan. He holds the Financial Industry Regulation Authority (FINRA) Series 79 and 63 licenses.
