Managing Director, Testifying Expert

Carmen Mencía is a managing director in the Madrid office and part of the Expert Services practice. She leverages more than 20 years of professional experience in disputes.

Prior to joining Kroll, Carmen served as a director at Forest Partners, which was acquired by Kroll in February 2019. She has been involved in the preparation of technical and expert witness reports, and in their subsequent defense and ratification before the competent courts and arbitration tribunals. Before that, Carmen was a founding member of the Forensic team at Ernst & Young. Earlier in her career, she joined the forensic desk of the Advisory department at KPMG, where she took part in the preparation of expert evidence, fraud investigations, license and intellectual property reviews, and compliance audits under anti-money laundering legislation. At KPMG, Carmen also worked with financial services clients (Bank of Spain and CNMV) and retail clients.

In relation to disputes, Carmen has issued countless expert witness reports, defending and ratifying evidence in the civil, employment, mercantile, administrative and criminal courts (including the National High Court). In addition, she has acted as an expert witness in numerous major arbitration cases, appearing before the Spanish arbitration courts and tribunals in Spain and Latin America (mostly in proceedings heard under the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules).

Carmen received degrees in business administration and law. She is a member of the Spanish Arbitration Club (CEA), the ICC Arbitration and ADR Commission, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Arbitral Women.
