
Brett Lord is a managing director in Kroll's Restructuring practice, based in Sydney. Brett has over 20 years of experience in corporate restructuring, advisory and insolvency. He is a registered and official liquidator who has led a broad range of insolvency, restructuring and investigation assignments including independent business reviews and financial viability reviews.
Brett focuses on the various real estate and construction sectors within Australia, and acts for lenders, builders, developers and landowners in relation to individual transactions/assets and portfolios. Brett regularly advises lenders regarding complex property transactions and restructurings. He is also active in the financial services and asset finance sectors.
Before joining Kroll, Brett served as Partner, Transaction Advisory Services – Restructuring at EY. Prior to that, Brett was a Partner at PPB Advisory for over 9 years. Some of his notable assignments include: Receiver of the largest independent stockbroker in Australia; advisor to Government for several large development and social infrastructure transactions; Deed Administrator for the Lehman Brothers real estate entities in Australia; and court appointed receiver of a completed shopping center development arising from a dispute between the partners in the partnership. Additionally, Brett has taken formal insolvency appointments in respect of well over 100 real estate companies, acted as Voluntary Administrator for an ASX listed gold miner and acted as the restructuring advisor to an ASX listed coal miner.
Brett received a B.Com. in accounting from Macquarie University. He is a member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association and is a licensed real estate agent.
