Becky Makaruk

Senior Director

Becky Makaruk is a director in the Restructuring practice, based in the Birmingham office. She has 19 years of experience working in corporate restructuring and insolvency. Becky founded and manages the firm’s central Progression and Closures team, assisting the wider practice to progress legacy cases in a timely manner.

Prior to Duff & Phelps' (rebranded as Kroll), Becky worked in the Restructuring team of one of the Big Four accounting firms. This included managing a progression team based in the Midlands and working in the National Technical and Compliance Team where she was heavily involved in the implementation of the changes to the Insolvency Rules for England, Wales and Scotland.

Becky’s experience has involved working at KPMG on large trading receiverships which have included an Iron Foundry, a large frozen food manufacturing company (Fisher Foods) and the company which creates products for the Body Shop. As part of her Progression role, Becky also managed the Powerhouse Liquidations which involved the payment of dividends to thousands of creditors.

Becky received a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Wales in Bangor. She is a qualified insolvency practitioner.
