Álvaro has a track record of over 15 years successfully leading large projects in consulting, international construction arbitration and program management for leading public and private organizations.
His expertise in strategic advisory, contract management and claim management provides significant value to top-tier clients in the concessionary, industrial, energy and construction sectors across EMEA and South America, enabling them to navigate complex project challenges, mitigate risks and optimize contractual outcomes.
His capability as an expert witness in both quantum (financial valuation of damages) and delay (analysis of project timelines and disruptions) matters has been crucial in resolving high-stakes disputes in numerous ADR and arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and other prominent international arbitration institutions, often involving complex technical and financial analyses of billion-dollar projects.
Prior to joining Kroll, he was Head of Operations and Program Manager for EMEA at JLL. He led the real estate development program for companies such as HP Inc., where he transformed the Real Estate function for EMEA, generating significant cost savings and optimizing its operational efficiency. Before that he was at Dragados UK, where he demonstrated his leadership as a Project Manager in the management of multiple large-scale projects. At Dragados, Álvaro led the execution of complex construction projects in London for clients such as Crossrail, London Underground and HS2, establishing a robust contract and claim management system.
He holds a degree in civil engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, a bachelor's degree in economics (UNED) and an MBA from London Business School.
He also holds an MSc in civil engineering structures from London City University and is currently pursuing an MSc in construction law from King's College London.
Álvaro has been recognized as a Chartered Engineer by the Institution of Civil Engineers since 2016.
