Prior to joining Kroll, Sean served as the U.S. Director at Dojo Consulting Group. Before that, he held the title of Senior Manager in KPMG’s Trade and Customs practice in Washington, D.C.. Sean also held trade policy-related research positions at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and the Atlantic Council, where he served as a fellow and Associate Director. Throughout his career, Sean has specialized in tariff mitigation and trade technology. He is particularly recognized for his work in duty drawback, where he has successfully helped numerous clients recover over $150 million in duties. His expertise extends to developing global trade operating models and conducting in-depth global trade risk assessments, covering both import customs and export controls for major aerospace and defense companies. He provides technical guidance on foundational customs issues, including tariff classification, country of origin and valuation.
Sean’s expertise has been featured in numerous media outlets and top-tier publications. He is the co-author of the book, “Bridging the Pacific” with Fred Bergsten, Founding Director, Peterson Institute, and has published extensively on international trade and investment policy.
Sean holds an MBA from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a licensed U.S. Customs Broker.
