Rushmila Alam is Senior Director in the Economics practice, based in Dubai. She brings more than 15 years of experience in economic analysis, modelling and policy advisory, to support governments, regulators and private-sector clients across the Middle East, Europe and Australia.

Rushmila advises clients on evidence-based policy solutions and legislative and regulatory reform, to strengthen competitiveness and drive economic growth. Her recent work includes engagements for economic ministries, customs authorities and chambers of commerce across the GCC, focusing on trade and investment ecosystem development, shaping organizational strategies, enhancing trade facilitation and formulating recommendations to address barriers to trade.

Prior to moving to Dubai, Rushmila worked in the UK, delivering business cases, economic impact assessments, cost-benefit analyses, tax policy modelling and trade-related analytical work for major UK government departments.

Rushmila holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Economics (First Class Honours) from the University of New South Wales.
