Rob has advised corporate and financial sponsor clients on numerous buy-side and sell-side transactions. He has led the origination and execution of M&A, capital markets and financing mandates, while driving strategic dialogue with senior and board-level executives. Rob has also managed large and diverse M&A teams across multiple markets.
Prior to joining Kroll, Rob was Founder and Director of Layton Advisory, an independent M&A advisory firm focused on the European transport, logistics and related infrastructure sectors. Before founding Layton Advisory, Rob spent more than 25 years at ING, where he most recently served as Managing Director and Head of Transport, Logistics and Infrastructure M&A. In that role, he led the origination and execution of M&A transactions, advising both corporate and financial sponsor clients and was a member of ING’s global transport and logistics sector management team.
During his tenure at ING, Rob held several corporate finance and M&A roles in London and Sydney. He led the execution of corporate finance transactions across Europe and managed a team of more than 20 M&A professionals. He also executed corporate finance transactions across Australia and Asia and led numerous financial sponsor M&A and debt advisory mandates.
Rob worked in the Audit and Business Assurance, Banking and Capital Markets divisions at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Rob is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
He holds a B.Sc. with Honors in Engineering from Durham University.
