Richard Morgan

He spent the last 14 years working in the government relations team at Anglo American, a major mining company based in London, recently focusing on the UK, Africa and Middle East. Earlier he had spent four years with Unilever covering a similar geography.

His public sector experience was gained through the UK government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) where he spent 20 years partly in London, partly he was based out of Tokyo, Pretoria and Paris. His work included commercial, political, development and external relations.

He has served on the boards of Project Trust (an NGO giving young people overseas experience) and on the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). He is currently also a senior advisor to the Critical Minerals Africa Group.

He is a graduate from Oxford University (B.A. Hons. in modern languages). He was awarded the Légion d'honneur by the French government for services to UK/France bilateral relations.
