Michael Perry is Managing Director in the Cyber and Data Resilience practice, based in Boston, MA.

Michael leverages more than 25 years of experience in cybersecurity, digital forensics, incident response, information technology and law enforcement to assist clients and serve as an expert in Kroll’s Complex Digital Events practice. He specializes in leading complex forensic investigations, cyber incident response engagements and expert witness matters involving high-profile litigation, corporate investigations and data security events.

Michael is recognized for his technical expertise, investigative leadership and ability to manage sensitive and complex matters for clients across a wide range of industries. He has extensive experience of conducting forensic acquisitions and analyses of computers, servers, mobile devices and enterprise systems in connection with civil litigation, internal investigations, regulatory matters and cyber incidents. He has also provided expert testimony and deposition support in numerous state and federal court proceedings throughout the U.S.

Before joining Kroll, Michael served in senior leadership positions within the Digital Forensics and Incident Response practice at Stroz Friedberg, where he led the Boston DFIR laboratory, supervised forensic examiners and managed a broad portfolio of complex investigative matters. Earlier in his career, he worked as Computer Forensic Analyst at Elysium Digital, LLC and served with the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department as Digital Evidence Forensic Examiner, Deputy Sheriff and Network/Database Administrator.

Michael began his technology career in the private sector as IT Manager for Dollar Rent A Car, where he oversaw technology operations and infrastructure management.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in information technology from Boston College and maintains multiple industry-recognized certifications, including GIAC Advanced Smartphone Forensics (GASF), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA). He is also an active member of the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) and the High-Technology Cyber Investigation Association (HTCIA).
