Lara works alongside clients to help them streamline their corporate group structures, manage risks, avoid unnecessary costs and enhance operational efficiency.
Lara assists clients by managing the solvent wind down of businesses to facilitate orderly exits from non-core markets and jurisdictions. She has a proven track record in planning and delivering large-scale legal entity rationalization projects to eliminate legacy entities that no longer serve an economic or business critical purpose.
Lara has worked with a variety of clients and stakeholders to extract value and return capital to shareholders tax efficiently—from owner-managed businesses to multinational conglomerates—across a broad range of industries, including financial services, public sector, technology, manufacturing, real estate, hospitality and energy.
Notable assignments include:
- Global wind-down of Content Delivery Network business stemming from U.S. parent company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy – coordinating managed exit across 13 territories.
- Multi-phased legal entity rationalization project for owner and operator of large international airport – feeding into Executive Committee papers and communications, working with the client and their legal advisors to reduce costs and enhance corporate governance.
- Solvent liquidations of superfluous group entities in the UK, Channel Islands and Cayman Islands for a leading UK pub retailer and brewer – achieving a simplified and future-proof group structure.
Prior to joining Kroll, Lara worked at Teneo and, before that, at Deloitte.
Lara holds a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of Warwick, and she is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
