Joseph Smart

Joseph leverages more than 10 years of corporate finance experience assisting financial sponsors, corporates and owner-managed businesses across the UK, North America and Australia. He specializes in executing M&A and other corporate finance mandates as a member of the firm’s Industrials M&A group.

Prior to joining Kroll, Joseph was Vice President in the Mid-Market M&A Team at HSBC in London. Before that, he was in the UK M&A Team at Santander, having previously spent seven years working internationally, most recently for EY in New York as Vice President in the Industrials M&A Team. Prior to working in investment banking, Joseph began his career as a chartered accountant in Leeds.

Joseph has extensive expertise advising clients across a range of deal scenarios, sectors and geographies, having been involved in more than 25 mid-market transactions. His transaction experience includes supporting businesses across multiple verticals in the industrials sector, such as manufacturing, industrial technology, packaging, distribution, industrial services and construction.

Joseph received a B.Sc. degree in accounting, business finance and management from the University of York. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
