Prior to joining Kroll, Jefferson served as Partner at KPMG Mexico's Forensic practice, where he was recognized for his innovative approach to investigations, leveraging technology to enhance both efficiency and quality. He led the adoption of Generative AI tools and implemented AI use cases within forensic services.
Jefferson's engagements include leading the Mexico work stream of a multijurisdictional FCPA investigation for a publicly listed Canadian company, where his team identified triangulation payment schemes and multiple instances of internal control failures. He led a complex shareholder dispute forensic analysis for a major mining company involving affiliated party transactions and extracting key insights from multiple data sources. Jefferson also directed multiyear fraud risk management engagements for major cement operations across Colombia, Panama and Honduras, utilizing advanced data analytics to identify suspected fraud across procurement, sales and inventory processes. Additionally, he led a complex payroll fraud investigation for a global CRM/BPO company, analyzing data for over 20,000 employees and identifying an ERP manipulation scheme through forensic data analysis.
Jefferson's insights have been featured in El Universal, Reforma, Forbes Mexico, El Financiero and Imagen Radio, among others. He has been a speaker at industry conferences, including presentations at the Colegio de Contadores Publicos de México, International Chamber of Commerce México and various forensic forums across Latin America.
Jefferson secured first position in KPMG's Global GenAI Prompt Challenge in 2024. He also received various KPMG’s Client Care recognitions for outstanding client service.
Jefferson holds a bachelor’s degree in systems and computer engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a Business Advisor degree from Colegio de Estudios Superiores en Administración (CESA). He holds the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) designations. He completed Data Science and Big Data Analytics: Making Data-Driven Decisions from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and holds additional certifications in Executive Data Science from Johns Hopkins University and Data Visualization with Tableau from Duke University.
Jefferson is fluent in Spanish and English.
