Heidi Wachs

Heidi leverages over 25 years of experience in data privacy, information governance, incident response and cybersecurity and leads Complex Digital Events and Expert Services for Kroll's Cyber and Data Resilience practice

Before joining Kroll, Heidi was Managing Director and Head of the Washington D.C. office of risk management firm, Stroz Friedberg, where she helped clients prepare for and respond to cybersecurity incidents and develop and implement data privacy and information security programs. In this role, she also oversaw complex investigations involving the collection, use and sharing of data and personal information.

Before that, Heidi held roles as Special Counsel within the Data Privacy and Cybersecurity practice of law firm, Jenner & Block, and Research Director of Identity and Privacy Strategies at Gartner, where she authored technical publications on data privacy and information protection for a global client base. Earlier in her career, Heidi served as the Chief Privacy Officer of Georgetown University.

Heidi has an extensive history of writing and presenting on issues of law, technology, and best practices for data privacy and incident response. Her specialties include data privacy, cybersecurity, incident response, technical and privacy investigations into the use of APIs, information governance and identity and access governance.

Heidi earned a JD from the Cardozo School of Law and also holds a B.A. in journalism from Lehigh University.
