He leverages more than 12 years of professional services experience, along with over 20 years in the UAE, advising private equity firms, corporates, GCC sovereign wealth funds and government entities on domestic and cross border tax matters. His work includes inbound and outbound tax advisory, tax due diligence, tax structuring, financial modeling and transaction documentation review across multiple sectors.
Prior to joining Kroll, Hashem served as Director within the M&A and International Tax practice at Alvarez & Marsal in Abu Dhabi. Before that, he was Senior Manager at EY, where he advised on complex cross border transactions and large scale mandates for regional and international clients. Earlier in his career, he was part of PwC London’s Private Equity and Deals Tax Team, supporting UK and global transactions. He also contributed to the implementation of the UAE Corporate Tax Law as part of projects led by the Dubai Department of Finance and the UAE Ministry of Finance.
Hashem has led multiple cross border tax engagements, including billion dollar transactions for GCC sovereign wealth funds, private equity sponsors and multinational corporates. His work spans tax structuring, diligence and modeling for investments across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, as well as advising on the tax implications of complex reorganizations and market entry strategies.
Hashem received a first class honors bachelor’s degree in accounting and financial management from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW). He is fluent in Arabic and English.
