César Gutiérrez

With more than two decades of experience in financial advisory, César has led over 200 transactions with a cumulative value exceeding USD 20 billion across Latin America, the United States and Canada. He advises boards of directors, C-suite executives, family-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, private equity funds, family offices and institutional investors on complex corporate finance and M&A matters. His expertise spans sell-side and buy-side M&A, capital solutions (private equity, private debt and hybrid structures), valuations and fairness opinions, cross-border transactions, roll-up strategies, shareholder transitions and strategic partnerships and joint ventures.

César has advised clients across a broad range of industries, including renewable energy, technology, healthcare, infrastructure, oil & gas, agribusiness and the automotive aftermarket. Known for combining technical rigor with deep knowledge of the geographies and industries he serves, he is passionate about maximizing value and delivering extraordinary outcomes in complex, high-stakes situations.

Before joining Kroll in September 2025 through the acquisition and integration of Bastion Capital Advisors, César was the firm’s Founder and Managing Partner for more than a decade where he led landmark transactions and built an extensive global investor and strategic partner network. Earlier in his career, he spent over 10 years at KPMG, first in Colombia, advising clients across Latin America and later at KPMG Global Infrastructure in Canada, one of the firm’s four global hubs, where he focused on structuring, financing and advising on the buy and sell side of major public-private partnership (“PPP”) projects across the Americas and the Caribbean.

César is currently completing an Advanced Management Program (“AMP”) at INALDE Business School. He also holds an MBA from IE Business School, a Master of Science in corporate finance and a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

In addition, he has pursued extensive executive education in M&A, corporate finance and strategy. Beyond his academic training, César lectures in MBA and executive education programs, where he prepares senior executives and business leaders on topics including M&A, corporate finance and value maximization. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences, private equity forums and corporate events, and serves as a mentor for global entrepreneurship initiatives such as Bridge for Billions, supporting the development of innovative ventures across Central America and beyond.
