Prior to joining Kroll, Anukool served as Senior Manager at Deloitte & Touche M.E. in Abu Dhabi, where he advised on fund structuring, VAT due diligence, transaction support, VAT health checks, VAT impact assessments, input tax apportionment and litigation support. Before that, he was Manager at PwC Middle East, where he supported banks, investment funds and real estate clients across the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia on VAT advisory, due diligence, compliance and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) tax authority implementation work. He has also held indirect tax positions at EY India LLP, Economic Laws Practice and BDO India LLP.
He has also worked directly with one of the GCC tax authorities on the drafting of VAT legislation and guidance, and with another GCC tax authority on technical guidance, taxpayer clarifications and technical positions.
Anukool has worked with one of the Middle East’s largest banks on complex VAT technical issues related to banking products, VAT audits and VAT due diligence in connection with the merger of its payment solutions and fintech platforms. He also worked with a major Abu Dhabi-headquartered real estate company, on the acquisition of retail commercial assets and post-deal VAT structuring considerations. In addition, he supported a global energy services company on VAT due diligence related to the acquisition of a Dubai-based design and engineering firm.
Anukool has presented at VAT seminars for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He has also contributed to the Times of India articles on Union Budget 2016 and Union Budget 2017.
Anukool holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai. He is also a Chartered Accountant (India) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
