Following a strong October performance, November witnessed the continued recovery of restaurant sales and traffic. With near-flat same-store sales (SSS) of 0.04% and comparable store traffic of 2.5%, November showed modest improvement from the rolling three-month period, for which SSS and traffic fell 0.5% and 2.8%, respectively. Subsequently, check average rose 2.4% in November, up from 2.0% in the first three quarters of 2017. While SSS is trending negative, total restaurant industry sales are up 3.0% since January 2016.
