The New AICPA PE/VC Valuation Guide Is Here – How Will It Impact Private Asset Valuations in Europe?

After six years of development, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) released a new accounting and valuation guide: Valuation of Portfolio Company Investments of Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds and Other Investment Companies. The new guide includes clarification of key concepts such as unit of account, calibration and back-testing. It contains 16 case studies to help clarify and understand concepts related to valuing investment company investments. 

David Larsen, Managing Director at Duff & Phelps and member of the AICPA taskforce that created the guide, will share insights on how both GPs and LPs can ensure that they comply with the new guidance and improve their valuation process.
