The Duff & Phelps Transfer Pricing practice is a proud sponsor of the American Bar Association (ABA)’s 19th Annual U.S. and Europe Tax Planning Trends Conference, which will be held April 3-5 in Paris, France.
Register now for the conference.
Designed for international tax professionals from industry and private practice, this year’s conference will focus on practical planning strategies for multinational corporations, and their international advisors, as well as provide insight in how government tax officials may view the international tax landscape in light of important international developments that impact corporate taxpayers.
The introduction of multiple anti-tax avoidance measures as a result of the BEPS action plan, the increased focus of tax administrations on tax planning as a result of the BEPS discussion and the impact of U.S. tax reform will lead to an increasing number of double or multiple taxation disputes with potentially high amounts at stake. This climate adds urgency to the existing need for an effective and efficient framework for the resolution of tax disputes.
Managing Director and Global Leader of Duff & Phelps’ Transfer Pricing practice, Jill Weise, will co-chair the panel titled, “Transfer Pricing Cases and Dispute Resolution Mechanisms”. This session will focus on recent high-profile transfer pricing cases, those likely to arise in the future and recent developments surrounding disputes resolution mechanisms. Specifically, the panel will explore the impact of the MLI on dispute resolution mechanisms in existing treaties, the implementation by the EU Member States of the 2017 EU Directive on tax dispute resolution, and the existing EU Arbitration Convention.
