Nicole Y. Lamb-Hale Optimistic About Trade Deal at Upcoming APEC

Nicole Y. Lamb-Hale, Managing Director in Kroll’s Business Intelligence and Investigations practice and Duff & Phelps Institute Fellow, revealed she's optimistic about some kind of a deal ahead at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Chile in an interview with Bloomberg Radio.

She said one of the challenges the U.S. has faced in trade negotiations is a lack of cultural sensitivity. Nicole said the way that the Trump administration has approached negotiations, in some ways, sets it up for China not to be able to save face, potentially, depending on how the negotiations go. "I have found in my work with the Chinese, that kind of approach is not helpful and that many things need to be spoken about behind the scenes and not in public," she added.
