Kroll Appoints Shai Waisman as Firm President

NEW YORK – Kroll, the world’s premier provider of services and digital products related to valuation, governance, risk and transparency, today announced the appointment of Shai Waisman as president of the firm, effective immediately. In this capacity, Waisman will report to Kroll Chief Executive Officer Jacob Silverman and will assume direct oversight of all of the firm’s business units, with responsibility for their commercial and operational success. Waisman previously served as president of the Kroll Business Services (KBS) division of Kroll. He succeeds Silverman, who assumed the role of CEO earlier this year and will continue directing overall strategy for the firm.

“Throughout this year we have undertaken a journey of transformation to position our firm to achieve its highest potential,” said Silverman. “Shai’s entrepreneurial mindset coupled with a focus on operating efficiency and client satisfaction are crucial to these next chapters of growth. Since joining Kroll, Shai has brought a fresh perspective to how we operate, and I am confident his leadership will help us continue to drive innovation and future success.”

Waisman brings over 15 years of senior leadership in legal and business services to his new role. He joined Kroll through the firm’s 2019 acquisition of Prime Clerk, a business he co-founded, where he served as chairman of the board and chief executive officer. Before joining Prime Clerk, Waisman was a partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, one of the world’s largest law firms, and led many of the biggest and most complicated restructurings in history. He holds a B.A. from The American University and a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he serves as vice chairman of the board of overseers.

“Over the last few years, I have witnessed the rapid expansion of our firm, including many dynamic new business offerings, and I am excited to play a role in sustaining this momentum for years to come,” said Waisman. “I look forward to working more closely with our business presidents and client facing teams to drive creative, tech-forward solutions to meet our clients’ most complex needs.”

Succeeding Waisman as president of KBS is Jessica Stamelman, who currently serves at chief financial officer of the business unit. Shamick Bindra, who currently serves as chief technology officer of KBS, has been named chief operating officer of KBS, and Christina Pullo will continue in the role of leader of the Prime Clerk division of KBS.

Earlier this year, Duff & Phelps announced plans to unify the company under the Kroll brand, followed shortly by the formation of its KBS practice.
