James McLeary Discusses Heightened Exposure to Cyber Risk Amidst COVID-19

Prioritizing the health and safety of their employees amidst the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, organizations have had to move to a more virtual work environment while doing their best to keep business operations on track. Bad actors, however, are taking advantage of this new normal to prey on the fears, rapidly evolving environments, a distracted workforce, individuals’ good will, and unprecedented changes in business operations for their own financial gain.

In a recent interview with MoneyFM, James McLeary, Associate Managing Director in the Cyber Risk practice of Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps, highlighted the cyberattacks organizations need to be aware of during COVID-19. James cited the steep uptake in email scams and malicious website domains that trick individuals into either visiting or opening malware. He further discussed strategies and practical steps organizations, management and employees can take to help reduce the impact of heightened cyber risks on the organization.
