New York –Duff & Phelps, the global advisor that protects, restores and maximizes value for clients, today announced it has been awarded ISO/IEC 27001:2013 (ISO 27001) certification, one of the most widely recognized and internationally accepted information security standards. ISO 27001 requires organizations to form an information security management system (ISMS), validating a systematic way of managing sensitive information and maintaining security.
Wayne Peterson, Global Chief Information Security Officer at Duff & Phelps, commented: “ISO 27001 is one of the few standards that uses a top-down, risk-based approach to evaluation. We are extremely proud of this achievement as it shows our clients that both their data and that of their customers is being protected in accordance with recognized standards. The certification further validates our commitment to good governance and information security, and we look forward to continuing to serve our clients and employees with the highest security standards.”
To achieve ISO 27001 certification, independent auditor British Standard Institute conducted an audit based on a framework for how a firm establishes, implements, maintains and improves information security management systems for the specific needs of the organization.
