Cyber Volunteers-19 Australia consists of cyber security professionals across Australia who are coming together to volunteer their services to protect health facilities and small charities from cyberattacks during the COVID-19 crisis.
Cyber Volunteers-19 Australia is a closed group on LinkedIn that cyber security professionals can request to join after being properly vetted. The group also has a corresponding public page that keeps its audience apprised of its progress and activities. The group is focusing its efforts on aiding the health sector by making its members available for any cyber security requirements or concerns. Louisa tells CSO Australia, “For example, if they get hit by ransomware…We're also collating a list of security companies that are offering pro bono service and technology during this time to make it really easy and transparent for a healthcare provider to see what they might be able to get help with.”
