The Journal of Accountancy reported on the findings of the 2013 U.S. Goodwill Impairment Study in relation to companies' reluctance to make use of an optional goodwill impairment test. The study, conducted by Duff & Phelps and the Financial Executives Research Foundation, gives companies an opportunity to benchmark their goodwill levels and impairments against other companies and sectors.
