Michael R. Press
Michael R. Press has joined the New York office of Duff & Phelps from Ernst & Young, where he was Partner and National Director of their Business Incentives practice, to lead the Business Incentives Advisory practice of Duff & Phelps. These services help companies assess the myriad of financial incentives and benefits offered by federal, state and local governments in return for their investment initiatives. Mr. Press brings more than 20 years of experience in economic development and tax incentives to the practice, having served in both government and non-government consulting roles including: Chief Economist and Deputy Commissioner for Policy in the New York City Office of Business Development, Chairman of the Enterprise Zone Administrative Boards of four such zones in New York City; Member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Tax Incentives Alert; and supervising incentives advisory consultant to many Fortune 500 companies.
Tab Weaver
Tab Weaver has joined Duff & Phelps as a Managing Director in the firm's Property Tax Practice based in Austin, Texas. Mr. Weaver was formerly the Partner in Charge of the National Complex Property Tax Practice of Deloitte. Mr. Weaver has more than 28 years of experience providing property tax solutions for corporations principally in the manufacturing and utility industries. His previous experience includes serving as President of the Industrial/Utility division of Real Estate Tax Services, the nation's largest boutique commercial property firm, and founding Weaver and Associates, a consulting firm providing property tax solutions to manufacturing and utility taxpayers. Mr. Weaver also coauthored the Utility and Manufacturing sections of the first Texas State General Appraisal Manual and has instructed several university and state certified appraisal courses for these property types.
Dean Price
Dean Price has joined the Houston office of Duff & Phelps as a Managing Director in the tax valuation and consulting practice from Avail Consulting, where he was responsible for the development of their tax valuation practice. Mr. Price has over 20 years of valuation and tax experience, of which 18 years were spent in public accounting. He has conducted engagements throughout the United States and abroad, including valuations in Eastern Europe, South America and Asia for privatization purposes. Additional engagements have included valuations of businesses and assets for acquisition, divestiture, financing, financial reporting and tax purposes, including work for clients in various segments of the energy industry. Mr. Price is a certified member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, and a member of the Association for Corporate Growth.
