Julieanne Himelstein is an Associate Managing Director in Kroll’s New York office. A recent addition to Kroll, Julieanne previously served for more than 30 years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, where she helped establish the Sex Offense Unit, which is responsible for investigating and prosecuting all sexual assaults of adults and children in Washington, D.C. Julieanne is among the most experienced sex crimes prosecutors in the United States. For several years, Julieanne served as Deputy Chief in the Sex Offense and Domestic Violence Section. In this role, Julieanne supervised thousands of rape and child molestation cases,investigating and prosecuting hundreds of these cases. She also pioneered interview and trial presentation techniques in the DC court system. Over her career, Julieanne was the lead prosecutor in more than 100 jury trials involving rape, sex trafficking of adults and children, child exploitation, and sex offenses against children. Julieanne conducted numerous complex grand jury investigations leading to multiple indictments and guilty pleas. Notably, Julieanne played a leading role in several high-profile cases brought by the U.S. Attorney’s Office including U.S. v. Andrew Warren, where she was the lead prosecutor in the sexual assault case against a high-level U.S. intelligence official stationed in Algeria.
Currently, Julieanne is a senior member of the Kroll team conducting Title IX and sexual misconduct investigations on behalf of universities and private companies.
