Michael Salah Rabaa is an associate managing director in the Compliance Risk and Diligence practice of Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps, based in Reston, Virginia. He drives the global quality management and talent development functions, coordinating with operational leaders in the due diligence, process improvement and business development spaces. He is dedicated to improving product quality using technology and data while maximizing human performance by applying the principles of instructional design.

Michael began his career with Kroll in 2011 by developing its editorial department, including defining and codifying the company’s written style. He later pioneered data-driven process improvements, including the company’s industry-leading quality metrics system, and then expanded his reach into the talent development and training functions, which he oversees.

Before joining Kroll, Michael was based in Seoul, South Korea, where he studied the language and worked as a scientific editor for Korean, Japanese and Chinese research institutions. A classically trained pianist who studied at the Berklee College of Music, he also spent time as a touring musician, entertaining at music venues, hotels and American military bases throughout Asia. Upon his return to the U.S., he obtained a master’s degree in U.S. foreign policy from American University in Washington, D.C.

His areas of expertise include quality management, business and scientific writing/editing, curriculum development, instructional design, electronic sound design/production, system architecture, training/facilitation, situational leadership and foreign policy.
