Kroll Expands Cyber Risk Practice in North America With Hire of Jaycee Roth

New York – Kroll, the world’s premier provider of services and digital products related to governance, risk and transparency, announced today that Jaycee Roth has joined the firm as an associate managing director in the Cyber Risk practice, based in the Toronto office. Roth specializes in incident response, incident handling, ransomware investigations, digital forensics and complex cybercrime investigations. Since November 2018, Jaycee has conducted and/or supervised over 600 ransomware and incident response cases.

Prior to joining Kroll, Roth was Director of Digital Forensics and Incident Response at Arete Advisors (“Arete”) in Toronto, where she led and managed a team of incident responders and digital forensic analysts to assist companies in rapidly addressing security incidents and mitigating threats. In this role, she participated in large-scope high-impact cyber breaches and managed incident response workflow and activities to support response and remediation. Before becoming a director at Arete, Roth was an associate director. Prior to Arete, she worked at Kivu Consulting and Herjavec Group.

Roth is an expert in host-based and network-centric analysis utilizing a variety of tools and techniques such as deadbox forensic analysis, log analysis, endpoint detection and response and active threat monitoring. She has extensive experience in dealing with extortion events, including communication with attacking parties, acquisition of decryption tools, and post-incident mitigation and remediation. She has received industry recognition for her work and is a highly sought-after presenter and public speaker for cyber-related topics.
