David A. Robillard has over 15 years experience advising boards of directors and senior managers on matters of business partnering, corporate investigations and competitive risks in a range of industries including mining, infrastructure and manufacturing. During his 10 years with Kroll, he has held several positions, including Country Manager in Spain and Mexico and Deputy Regional Managing Director for Latin America and the Caribbean.
David, a dual Canadian and Mexican citizen, is an author and lecturer on the subjects of corporate and reputational risks and is considered a leading expert on the topic of crimes against business in Mexico.
Professional Experience
- Business Intelligence. Over a two-year period provided ongoing monitoring of a radicalized union leadership and strategic advice to the client’s management in support of negotiations over an illegal strike, resulting in a non-violent solution.
- Corporate Investigations. Directed an investigation into mismanagement and financial impropriety for an international manufacturer that resulted in the dismissal of the senior management of the Mexican operation.
- Strategic Advice. Over two years, David provided ongoing monitoring of a radicalized union leadership and strategic advice to the client’s management in support of negotiations over an illegal strike, resulting in a non-violent solution.
- Fraud and Detection. Led an investigation into internal collusion of regional sales managers for a transportation company. Kroll´s efforts eventually resulted in the criminal conviction of the ringleader for defrauding clients and embezzlement of over $500,000 in funds.
- Due Diligence. Has directed reputational and FCPA investigations for a variety of companies seeking to invest in Latin America, Asia and Africa.
