Matthew Levey is a managing director in Kroll’s Business Intelligence and Investigations division in North America. He serves clients in the financial services, pharmaceutical, natural resource and consumer packaged goods industries. Matthew’s experience is in defining growth and marketing strategies, optimizing tactical steps and developing implementation plans for such strategies. His clients often face cross-cultural challenges on top of their typical operating issues.

Matthew joined Kroll in April 2002 from McKinsey & Company. From 1989 through 1996 he served as a U.S. diplomat in Latin America and Eastern Europe, as well as in Washington, D.C. He speaks Spanish, Romanian and French.

Professional Experience

• Risk Management. Matthew assessed the risks associated with a financial service client’s proposed $1 billion investment in an Asian resources extractor.
  
  
• Competitive Risk Analysis. Matthew profiled a series of competitive threats to business lines of a €4 billion global information services client. For a $600 million U.S. consumer electronics retailer, Matthew evaluated the capabilities of a rapidly growing competitor.
  
  
• Benchmarking. Matthew helped a €13 billion global food service operator to establish performance benchmark as part of their effort to define a new growth strategy.
  
  
• Risk Mitigation. Matthew identified risks and proposed mitigation strategies for a private equity firm’s proposed acquisition of a $600 million consumer products manufacturer and distributor with significant Asian exposures.
  
  
• Intellectual Property Disputes. Matthew investigated several Asian technology manufacturers whose devices infringed on an American clients’ intellectual property, leading to settlements between the firms.
