He joined Kroll in early 2008 when Kroll acquired InfoAmericas, the leading independent market intelligence firm in Latin America. As a managing director of Market Intelligence Services at Kroll-InfoAmericas, Mr. Price is a strategic advisor to clients, providing advice on market positioning, market entry, competitive trends, and partnering. Within Kroll-InfoAmericas, Mr. Price is responsible for sales and product development in an effort to marry Kroll’s renowned risk management consultancy services with InfoAmericas’ market opportunity focused consulting advice. Mr. Price is a recognized regional thought leader in the areas of Latin American business climate and market strategy best practices. He has published more than 100 articles on the subjects, published by leading regional and national journals. More recently, Mr. Price co-edited the book “Can Latin America compete?” published by Palgrave.
Professional Experience- Consumer Products and Services. Mr. Price, who began his Latin American market consulting career in 1993, has overseen three separate industry practices. Mr. Price has advised global packaged food, beverage, automotive, technology and retail industry clients on the burning strategic issues of the day. Some of these include: evolving channel structure, consumer spending power and preference, brand fragmentation and globalization, and the impact of expanding consumer credit access.
- Transportation and Logistics. Mr. Price launched a consulting practice in 2003 and authored the leading regional whitepaper on 3PL trends. Mr. Price has led over 40 studies in the sector ranging from road, rail, ocean and air cargo to 3PL and 4PL logistics services. Firms representing more than 60% of Latin American logistics market share have turned to Kroll-InfoAmericas for strategic research, led by John Price.
- Consulting. In all, a fifteen year career has involved John Price in over 600 consulting engagements spanning over 15 industries and all 20 markets within Latin America.
- Government Advisory. Since 1996, Mr. Price has advised shapers of trade policy and export promotion in Peru, Colombia, Chile Guatemala, El Salvador, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico inside the region as well as Canadian and American governments regarding their Latin American interests.
- Academia. During his tenure in Mexico, Mr. Price taught International Marketing and Trade at the Universidad de Guanajuato and at the Universidad de las Americas in Mexico City. From 2003 to 2005 he was asked to teach the same courses at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami.
